Report Excerpt

The Web CMS Report 2009 looks at... Hannon Hill Cascade Server

"Despite content being stored as XML fragments, Cascade Server is fundamentally a page-based system optimized for repurposing entire XML documents rather than facilitating piece-wise content reuse. Pages are transformed to XHTML via XSLT (or to PDF via XSL-FO), enabling different views of the content objects to be rendered. If you don't have XSL expertise in-house, note that the learning curve can be steep. (Some other XML-based vendors, such as Percussion, are providing alternative templating techniques.) Hannon Hill customers confirm that the time it takes to fully realize the benefits of this CMS are highly dependent on staff knowledge of XML and XSL. "

More about The Web CMS Report 2009

Our customers say

"We found the Enterprise Portals Report to be extremely helpful in our efforts to implement a revamped and improved portal at our organization. Not only were the portal product evaluations impartial and thorough, but the 'best practices' advice contained in the report was excellent! Your report saved us a lot of time and money by consolidating a wealth of information in one spot. Worth every penny!

TrendWatch: The CMS Watch Blog

Welcome to our blog. We try to explain the bigger picture behind what's going on in content technology marketplaces.

Elsewhere, you might see the headline: "Vendor X has come out with a new product release." We ask ourselves: So what? What does that mean for the marketplace? What does that mean for you, the potential buyer or integrator of these solutions?

You can read recent blog entries, or peruse the entire archive (to 2001), or see entries that refer to specific vendors, or sort entries by technology channel:
