The Enterprise Portals Report looks at... LDAP support in Liferay

"LDAP servers, such as Microsoft Active Server and OpenLDAP, are also supported through plug-in authenticators, although this requires some fairly advanced editing of configuration files and a very strong knowledge of LDAP queries..."

More about The Enterprise Portals Report

Our customers say

"We found the Enterprise Portals Report to be extremely helpful in our efforts to implement a revamped and improved portal at our organization. Not only were the portal product evaluations impartial and thorough, but the 'best practices' advice contained in the report was excellent! Your report saved us a lot of time and money by consolidating a wealth of information in one spot. Worth every penny!

Still no official roadmap for SharePoint 2007

04-Jun-2007   --

Almost 6 months after its initial launch, Microsoft has still not issued clear plans nor direction for future releases of MOSS 2007. After being burned on Longhorn and other much-discussed future products, we can almost understand Microsoft's hesitation here. But MOSS is now out in the world, and inasmuch as it remains a friendlier tool for integrators than licensees, a lack of future direction brooks higher than normal risk for buyers, particularly given the worldwide dearth of truly experienced MOSS 2007 consultants. You can find much product information online (e.g., on security, scaling limits), but in general the documentation remains poor. The recently updated Enterprise Portals Report has many new details, including the real story on poor support for basic web standards, such as XHTML and accessibility.
