Are you ready for Vista?

21-Apr-2007

Late last year we recommended to exercise caution when upgrading to IE7 in the face of potential incompatibilties with various Web CMS and Portal softare packages. Perhaps as a surprise to some, not everything worked smoothly in the new browser from Microsoft. Now it turns out that there are issues with IE7 on Vista as well. Open source vendor eZ Systems reports via e-mail to a colleague of mine that IE7 for Vista has dropped support for the visual editing component that they use. They currently recommend FireFox instead for Vista installations. Vista adoption seems to be going a bit slowly, but these issues become increasingly important as home users upgrade their PCs. Have you run into any application compatibility problems with Vista? Please let me know! (Thanks to David Mandix Carlsen)
