Report Excerpt

The Web CMS Report 2009 looks at... PaperThin CommonSpot

"Extensibility at the code level is not a strength of the PaperThin offering. This is one product in which you have to go to considerable effort to expose raw code of any kind in the user interface. CommonSpot is, for all intents, a black box. To some extent, this is by design. The company has a strong orientation toward helping non-technical customers stay non-technical. "

More about The Web CMS Report 2009

Our customers say

"The reviews of various CMS packages in the Web CMS report is well-structured, allowing readers with different roles to easily examine each product in detail and quickly make comparisons between products. But even better than the excellent product reviews is the clearly-written, comprehensive, and non-biased explanations of the Web CMS landscape. In addition to making it easier to more fully-appreciate the massive amounts of product information, it also provides readers with great guidance that will assist them with any CMS selection and implementation.

FileNET Buys eGrail

03-Apr-2002   --

CMS Watch report buyers will recall that we have been wondering just how long Web CMS vendor eGrail would stay independent. Now we know. For FileNET, the acquisition represents a sort of U-turn back into the CMS space after the company focused deliberately on enterprise DM and business process automation software over the last few years. For eGrail, which had suffered from undercapitalized R&D efforts, the sale is clearly a boon. It remains unclear, however, how much the present eGrail technical architecture dovetails with the rest of the FileNET suite, and that should give current eGrail users some pause amid what appears otherwise to be very good news...
