Report Excerpt

The Web CMS Report looks at... CoreMedia CMS

"This all means that the templates are created by a developer or template designer in an offline development environment. The files then reside on the file system together with any other system components such as Java components or JSF configuration files. Similar to Percussion or Vignette, that means you need to version, workflow, and promote them separately using Ant (a Java-based tool out of the Apache stack for automating software build processes). On the downside, it creates a potentially serious deployment challenge for organization with fast-evolving content applications. "

Our customers say

"I’ve been using the The Web CMS European Report and I have to say that the quality of the analysis is faultless. How your team not only get beneath the surface of CMS products but also highlight the good, bad and ugly in a very readable report is nothing short of miraculous.

While the CoreMedia corporate website still mentions CMS, it seems like the longtime German content management vendor is more focused on digital rights management (DRM) these days. To be sure, their DRM capabilities are quite unique, but prospective buyers of CoreMedia's CMS should note that "Mobile TV" and "Music Anywhere" are on the top of the company's solutions and dominate their press releases. As buyers of the recently released CMS Report, European Edition know, DRM brings in roughly 50 percent of the revenue for CoreMedia and occupies half of their 50 or so engineers. With this in mind CoreMedia is not as big a CMS vendor as they may appear to be.
