Report Excerpt

The Web CMS Report looks at... e-Spirit FIRSTspirit

"Developers can work with their IDE of choice as the templates just reside on the file system. The templates are made from a combination of XHTML, proprietary tagging, and BeanShell, an open source Java scripting language. BeanShell is used to extend functionality and allows developers to define functions that can be called from within a script. While BeanShell is a popular testing and debugging tool, its spare syntax can engender a comparatively steep learning curve, and FIRSTspirit is the only product in this report to use it for templating or other logic. "

More about The Web CMS Report

Our customers say

"The reviews of various CMS packages in the Web CMS report is well-structured, allowing readers with different roles to easily examine each product in detail and quickly make comparisons between products. But even better than the excellent product reviews is the clearly-written, comprehensive, and non-biased explanations of the Web CMS landscape. In addition to making it easier to more fully-appreciate the massive amounts of product information, it also provides readers with great guidance that will assist them with any CMS selection and implementation.

We release version 10 of The CMS Report

12-Sep-2006   --

Our quest to tell the real story about web content management software continues today. In this latest edition of The CMS Report, we've updated all the vendor reviews and added some new evaluation criteria, including system reporting, micro-applications, and content retention -- addressing the increasingly important role of marketers and records managers. With this version, we also make available an optional "European Edition," which adds several new vendors active primarily in that region (Escenic, e-Spirit, eZ publish, GOSS, Immediacy, and Terminalfour). In North America, we begin coverage of Hot Banana and Hannon Hill.

As always, CMS Report buyers within the past 10 weeks will receive the new version gratis. Previous CMS Watch customers are eligible for discounted updates. Look for an e-mail shortly.
