Report Excerpt

The Web CMS Report 2009 looks at... Joomla!

"The types of users are fixed and there is no way to customize users and roles according to your specific needs. You are locked into the hierarchy. This kind of security implementation works find for small publishing operations, but is limiting for large sites who may want to have their own classes and roles for users. "

Miro transfer Mambo rights for $1

23-Dec-2005

As a follow up to recent split by the original Mambo development team, and subsequent forking, Australian vendor Miro recently issued a press release announcing that they have transferred all rights to Mambo Open Source CMS to the Mambo Foundation for 1 dollar. In addition to the rights, the grant also protects against turning Mambo CMS into a more restrictive license. In more recent news the Mambo Foundation announced the re-formation of the Mambo Steering Committee. 2005 has been a bumpy year for Mambo. Perhaps 2006 will bring focus back to strengthening the project.
