Report Excerpt

The Web CMS Report 2009 looks at... Hannon Hill Cascade Server

"Despite content being stored as XML fragments, Cascade Server is fundamentally a page-based system optimized for repurposing entire XML documents rather than facilitating piece-wise content reuse. Pages are transformed to XHTML via XSLT (or to PDF via XSL-FO), enabling different views of the content objects to be rendered. If you don't have XSL expertise in-house, note that the learning curve can be steep. (Some other XML-based vendors, such as Percussion, are providing alternative templating techniques.) Hannon Hill customers confirm that the time it takes to fully realize the benefits of this CMS are highly dependent on staff knowledge of XML and XSL. "

More about The Web CMS Report 2009

Our customers say

"The Web CMS Report was the roadmap for our entire CMS selection process. It truly provided a basis for understanding what we should look for and expect in a CMS. Above all, since we used the report as our guide, we are more-than-confident in our CMS selection. If we had to go through the process all over again, we'd still rely as heavily on this report as the first time.

IT Project Manager, University of Oklahoma

CMS Watch releases 8th Edition of The CMS Report

17-Aug-2005   --

This week we launched the latest version of our web content management buyer's guide, The CMS Report. In this version, we add coverage of OpenCms, Plone, CoreMedia, and Synkron, as well as substantially update the analysis of Vignette, Interwoven, Documentum, Stellent, and 23 other CMS vendors. There's no other single place you can find this breadth and depth of comparative coverage of the major players. Read before you try before you buy. By the way, scores of consultants, developers, and end-users around the world contribute on an ongoing basis to this report. To those contributors: once again, many thanks. And a special nod to Janus Boye of Boye IT, and Seth Gottlieb of Optaros, both of whom contributed substantially to this version.
