Tridion Makes a (Small) Push for the Enterprise

People frequently ask us what distinguishes an "Upper Tier" from an "Enterprise" Web CMS. There are several distinctions. One of them is the ability to connect with and use remote content stores that reside in other enterprise applications, like ERP systems. With its latest "point" release (5.1) European CMS vendor Tridion introduces a "Content Porter," designed to pull and push content in and out of the CMS to and from other enterprise systems. This is a good first start, but mostly useful for migrations; to be really useful, Tridion will need to architect the connectors to manage content remotely in a distributed way, rather than move it into a central repository...
