The Web CMS Report 2008 looks at... TeamSite technology

"At the same time, the technical underpinnings of the product are more than a decade old, and while Interwoven understandably does not want to completely re-invent the platform, it is becoming increasingly harder for the company to align its architecture with contemporary standards and performance expectations. For customers, making slight feature modifications can entail significant engineering work..."

More about The Web CMS Report 2008

Our customers say

"The reviews of various CMS packages in the Web CMS report is well-structured, allowing readers with different roles to easily examine each product in detail and quickly make comparisons between products. But even better than the excellent product reviews is the clearly-written, comprehensive, and non-biased explanations of the Web CMS landscape. In addition to making it easier to more fully-appreciate the massive amounts of product information, it also provides readers with great guidance that will assist them with any CMS selection and implementation.

From the patent: "The present invention relates generally to hierarchical file systems and, more specifically, to a system and method for file management which can be used as a website development tool." Interwoven is smart to patent such innovations as its "workareas" concept. We're not patent lawyers, but it seems to us that some of the codicils about versioning and virtualization apply specifically to IWOV's proprietary "hierarchical file system," and we would hope that the company doesn't try to brandish the patent in such a way that CMS vendors hither and yon (that offer file versioning or virtualized reviewing capabilities) have to spend more on their barristers than they already do...
