Report Excerpt

The Web CMS Report 2009 looks at... Percussion Rhythmyx

"Part of Percussion's new tack is building repeatable packaged "Solutions" on top of the platform, with the goal of speeding up implementation times and reducing expensive custom development. This sounds promising, but prospective customers should understand that the company has made similar pronouncements before, but it cannot ever seem to shed its technology-focused corporate DNA. "

More about The Web CMS Report 2009

Our customers say

"The Web CMS Report was the roadmap for our entire CMS selection process. It truly provided a basis for understanding what we should look for and expect in a CMS. Above all, since we used the report as our guide, we are more-than-confident in our CMS selection. If we had to go through the process all over again, we'd still rely as heavily on this report as the first time.

His comments about the package NW selected (Percussion's Rhythmyx) could apply to most other products. Note especially Gaffin's discussion of the complexities of expiring content in state-transition workflows, as well as his critique of the templating system. On the latter, we must agree that one of the negative side-effects of most CMS implementations is the reinsertion of an engineer in between a designer and their templates...
