Indian marketplace: like everywhere else...but more so?

Practice Manager of the Portals and Content Management group at Indian integrator Wipro, Apoorv Durga, has written an illuminating posting on 5 challenges for vendors in the Indian content management marketplace. Among the challenges cited are the 22 officially recognized languages, weak translation tools, cheap labor costs (mitigates automation ROI), and infrastructure challenges. CMS Watch has argued that most content management markets remain highly national (e.g. France, Denmark, Australia). Durga makes a good case that the Indian market is quite distinct as well.
