Search Marketplace Stabilizing After Years of Turbulence

Today we release our 2009 Cross-Checktm chart for enterprise search and information access technology, as well as an update to our Search & Information Access Report 2009. In addition to adding a full product evaluation of Omniture's SiteSearch offering, we've updated our coverage of Microsoft, FAST, and the nearly-dead Surfray/Mondosoft.
As part of our Cross-Check analysis, we noted enterprise search vendors have spent much of the past year digesting acquisitions and stabilizing their offerings. While in the past, search & information access technology buyers faced vendors and technology both undergoing rapid change, the choices are now more stable. It's perhaps a sign of the times that vendors are debuting fewer new features, and focused more on stabilizing their current offering, selling smarter, and keeping customers happy.
