Report Excerpt

The Web CMS Report 2009 looks at... e-Spirit FIRSTspirit

"Developers can work with their IDE of choice as the templates just reside on the file system. The templates are made from a combination of XHTML, proprietary tagging, and BeanShell, an open source Java scripting language. BeanShell is used to extend functionality and allows developers to define functions that can be called from within a script. While BeanShell is a popular testing and debugging tool, its spare syntax can engender a comparatively steep learning curve, and FIRSTspirit is the only product in this report to use it for templating or other logic.
